Poster Design for Alabama 200
A poster that speaks to all citizens of Alabama and encourages their engagement in community was needed for Alabama 200. The Gee's Bend Quiltmakers of Alabama is a community of African American quilters that have been quilting since the early twentieth century; furthermore, quilts are a recognized icon of southern hospitality, family, and community. This is why I chose to create my own quilt for this poster.
Awarded Illustration Best in Show by Ann Willoughby of Willoughby Design at the Auburn University Faculty Student Juried Show, and displayed at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art as part of This is Research SHOWCASE: The Work of Creative Scholarship.
